We want it to be easy for you to come to church. We want you to experience a great time and meet friendly people who will welcome you into the community of First Baptist Church. We know that first-time visits to any church can be scary, but we want to help make your visit comfortable and enjoyable.

Here is a quick look at some frequently asked questions that will give you a better idea of what to expect when you visit FBC. If you do not see an answer to your question here, please contact the church office by calling 402.296.9284 or email us using the form at the bottom of this page. Our staff would love to assist you in preparation for your visit to FBC.

Where Are You Located?

Our address is 16220 Hwy 75, Plattsmouth, NE 68048. We are right on Hwy 75, which offers easy accessibility from Plattsmouth, Beaver Lake, Bellevue, and Offutt Air Force Base. Our building is easily seen from Hwy 75 and most identifiable by our large, white steeple.  We are next to HyVee and across from Burger King, just for reference points.
When Do I Need To Arrive?
Sunday morning services begin at 9 & 11 am. Adult Connection Groups and Sunday School classes meet at 10:00 am. It would be appropriate to arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to the service/class time to allow adequate time for parking and getting to the Auditorium/Bible Study class. If you have small children, this will give you enough time to show them their classes and get them checked in properly.
 Where Do I Go?
Greeters are located at each entrance to the building. We have two carports for drop-off if the weather is inclement, or you can enter through the main entrance in the front of the building. These greeters will direct you to the Welcome Center, where you will be greeted by a host or hostess. A friendly host or hostess will help you get to the main auditorium, help your children get to their classes, or show you where your adult class is. Honestly, most anyone will be happy to help you find your way around, we love to help!
Where Do My Children Go?
We are blessed with clean, professional, state of the art nurseries and children’s classes. (Our nursery is for babies through 4 year olds while you are in the main auditorium.) We have gone to extreme efforts to make sure your little ones will be cared for properly. You will receive a pager upon checking in and will be notified if your child needs extra assistance in any way. We also offer children’s churches during the Sunday morning service. We feel it is best for children to have the Bible taught on a level that can be understood and comprehended. We believe children should love coming to church, and we strive to make that possible.
What Should I Wear?
We are more concerned with meeting your needs than focusing on what you wear. So that you can be most comfortable, you should know that many people do choose to wear their “Sunday best”. We only ask that you be modest and appropriate in what you choose to wear to God’s house.
What Do I Need To Bring?
A Bible will help you follow along with the message and Scripture reading. If you have a Bible, bring it with you. If you don’t have a Bible, it’s not a big deal. The scriptures are often shown on the screens and we offer Bibles to all visitors at the Welcome Center. We also offer a wide variety of Bibles to purchase in the bookstore. If you have a smart phone or tablet, there are many downloadable Bible apps available. We will be using the King James Version in the church service, so if you download an app, consider locating that version so it’s easiest to follow along. Otherwise, there really isn’t anything else you need to bring with you!
Is The Church Handicap Accessible?
Yes. There is reserved parking directly in front of the main entrance. The building is also equipped with wheelchair accessible entrances and handicap accessible restrooms located throughout the building. Should you need a wheelchair to use or need assistance, please call the church office ahead of time or tell someone at the Welcome Center, and we’ll be more than happy to help you get to where you are going.
How Are Visitors Recognized?
The last thing we want to do is single you out or put you on the spot. We ask visitors to fill out a Guest Information Card at the Welcome Center. We’ll never ask you to stand up or call you out in any way. We want you to have a wonderful experience at First Baptist Church and desire to create a friendly and comfortable environment to make you feel right at home.
We hope you will join us soon!
